Tate 3 sec

These photos are connected to the process of the investigation between still photography and film, therefore I experimented alot with photo-sequences and including more time into the photos and the experience taking them, just like small films. In my exhibition work I ended up placing some of these photos next to each others, to create a 2 dimensional flat film. Changing the 3 dimensional world into still images, if that makes sense.

Individual in crowd: part of the "Liverpool street in 15 minutes"

This is experimental pictures during my project about Belonging - being our own individual but unevitable connected to a bigger context and other people - groups. This is why I wanted to go to a busy place and take photos of crowds as well as concentrating on individuals. It´s funny what you can actually see if you really look.

"Every door on Westbourne park road"

These photos are from a street near by where I used to live in notting hill. I wanted to take one photo of every door and ended up with quite alot of door-photos.
They are a part of "Home" series when looking into how people live and uses spaces in personal and different way. Leading me to develop "Private space"

Belonging

Similar but different

These are photographs which are continous in the series of "Belonging - the individual in a bigger context"
I wanted to communicate the similarities between these two men who are so different seen from certain perspectives. The idea is to compare the "respected" man in society and the man who is homeless and ignored. Who belongs where and how do we judge people depending on where they "belong". How does our perception change depending on our first impression? It is also a way of documenting the class society and the value of people.

About Me

My photo
London, United Kingdom
Im Emma from Gothenburg, Sweden. I live in London, and Stockholm. I study Photography at London college of communication after graduating from Central saint martins with Graphic design/photo which helped me develop alot and lead me to focusing only on photo. I find it inspirationable to study in London as I´m surrounded with lots of creativity and people with great ideas everyday. I find it important to be interested as a person to be able to do something interesting yourself. When it comes to art and photography I find it important to be open to recieve inspiration within any art form to create a broader understanding. This will make you more advanced within your own area of expertise. If your an actor, go and see dance, read books, go to exhibitions. It´s up to oneself how to develop that inspiration into something of your own. "The act of observing the experiment affects the experiment".
